Road Trippin' along Ruta 40 and Carretera Austral

Ruta 40 and Carretera Austral

After El Calafate, our next destination was Coyhaique (small town in Chilenean Andes) as we had the idea to go to Puerto Montt on a Cargo ship for 2 days. After some further research, we found out that going there might not be as easy as we thought, but as we already had the tickets, we thought "nah, lets just start, we will make it in the end, even if we hitch hike" :)

Well, in the end it was not too bad getting there, just the usual stuff, taking long hour buses, ferries and again buses :)
BUT, as we drove along the infamous Ruta 40 and Carretera Austral, the long hours spent on the bus were again not so bad...

Want some ice?!

Perito Moreno Glacier

I expected the glacier to be massive, but once you are there, you realize "wow, its really big" :)
As we are heading towards the North, we stopped in El Calafate to see the Perito Moreno Glacier. Apparently, we are really lucky regarding the patagonian summer, so we had yet another perfect day....

perfect day at the glacier!

Tomorrow we will continue traveling up North to Los Antiguos to catch the Navimag at the end of the week... What Comes in between, we dont know yet :)
